Is it Vegan? VeganScanner Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Is it Vegan? VeganScanner iOS app, including free features, Premium subscriptions, support interactions, and related legal rights and responsibilities.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Is it Vegan? VeganScanner, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the Is it Vegan? VeganScanner Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. App description

Is it Vegan? VeganScanner is an informational shopping assistant designed to help users review barcode data, ingredient lists, and related product context to estimate whether a product appears vegan.

Is it Vegan? VeganScanner does not provide medical, dietary, allergy, legal, or professional advice, and it does not guarantee that any product is vegan, allergen-safe, ethically sourced, or suitable for your needs.

3. Eligibility and permitted use

  • You may use Is it Vegan? VeganScanner only in compliance with applicable law.
  • You are responsible for verifying product labels, ingredients, and store information before purchase or consumption.
  • You may not use the app for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive conduct.

4. License

Subject to these Terms, Is it Vegan? VeganScanner grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple platform rules and your App Store purchase rights.

5. Premium subscriptions

  1. Is it Vegan? VeganScanner may offer auto-renewable subscriptions, including weekly and annual plans.
  2. Subscription pricing is shown inside the app and in the App Store purchase flow before purchase.
  3. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  4. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  5. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  6. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
  7. If offered, any free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
  8. You can use the in-app restore feature to restore eligible purchases.

6. Billing and refunds

Apple handles billing, subscription management, and refunds for App Store purchases. Refund requests must generally be made through Apple using the App Store or Apple support channels. Is it Vegan? VeganScanner does not directly process App Store payments.

7. Features and service changes

We may add, change, remove, suspend, or restrict app features at any time, including AI features, free scan limits, Premium features, product data integrations, and support flows.

Some features depend on third-party services, app configuration, network access, device capabilities, or App Store purchase state. Availability is not guaranteed at all times.

8. Third-party services

  • Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions.
  • Firebase for analytics, diagnostics, and configuration.
  • Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central for product data.
  • Cloudflare and OpenAI for optional AI processing.

9. Third-party terms

Your use of Is it Vegan? VeganScanner may also be affected by the terms, privacy policies, and service conditions of Apple and these third-party providers. Those third-party terms remain separate from these Terms.

10. Acceptable use restrictions

  1. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from Is it Vegan? VeganScanner except where law prohibits that restriction.
  2. You may not interfere with app security, rate limits, subscription systems, or service availability.
  3. You may not use automated or abusive methods to overload the app or its providers.
  4. You may not submit unlawful, infringing, malicious, or deceptive content through support or app inputs.

11. User submissions and support

If you send product feedback, bug reports, support emails, or other suggestions, you grant Is it Vegan? VeganScanner the right to use that feedback to operate, support, and improve the app without additional compensation, subject to the Privacy Policy.

12. Intellectual property

Is it Vegan? VeganScanner, including its app design, branding, code, copy, and original content, is protected by intellectual property laws. Product names, brands, and third-party marks referenced through barcode or product search remain the property of their respective owners.

13. Disclaimers

  1. The app is provided on an as is and as available basis.
  2. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or perfect product classification accuracy.
  3. Barcode catalog data, OCR results, and AI output may be incomplete, incorrect, or outdated.
  4. You remain responsible for checking packaging, labels, allergen statements, and manufacturer information before relying on a result.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Is it Vegan? VeganScanner and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to the use of the app.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, any aggregate liability arising out of or related to the app will not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for Is it Vegan? VeganScanner Premium in the twelve months preceding the event.

15. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access to all or part of Is it Vegan? VeganScanner if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, misused the service, or created security or legal risk.

16. Apple-specific notice

Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Is it Vegan? VeganScanner except as required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms to the extent applicable.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of Is it Vegan? VeganScanner after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
